How It Works

Complete your remote online notarization in five simple steps — from the comfort of your home or office.

1. Upload 2. Verify 3. Connect 4. Sign 5. Receive
1

Upload Your Document

Upload the PDF document you need notarized through our secure portal. We accept standard PDF files. Make sure your document is complete and unsigned before uploading. You'll be able to review everything with the notary during the session.

Tip: Upload your document ahead of time so the notary can review it before your session. This helps keep your appointment on schedule.

2

Verify Your Identity

We use a two-step identity verification process as required by law. First, upload a photo of your government-issued ID for automated credential analysis. Then, answer a series of knowledge-based authentication (KBA) questions, similar to verifying your identity for a financial transaction. This ensures that you are who you say you are.

Tip: Have your driver's license or passport ready. The KBA questions are drawn from public records, so answer them as accurately as possible.

3

Connect With a Notary

Join a live video session with a commissioned notary public. No special software is needed, the session takes place entirely in your web browser. The notary will greet you, confirm your identity verification results, and walk you through the signing process step by step.

Tip: Use a quiet, well-lit space with a stable internet connection. A laptop or desktop with a built-in camera and microphone is all you need.

4

Sign Your Document

Apply your electronic signature to the document while the notary watches via video. The notary will then apply their digital signature and official notary seal. The entire session is recorded and stored as part of the notarial record, creating a complete audit trail.

Tip: Take your time reviewing the document before signing. The notary can answer questions about the process but cannot provide legal advice.

5

Receive Your Notarized Document

Once the notarization is complete, your notarized document is available for immediate download. You'll also receive a secure link via email. The final document includes the notary's electronic signature and official seal, making it legally binding and ready for use. Your documents are stored securely and available for future access.

Tip: Save a copy of your notarized document to your computer or cloud storage right away. The download link in your email remains active for 30 days.

Security

Your Security Is Our Priority

Every notarization is protected by multiple layers of security, from identity verification to encrypted document storage.

Bank-Grade Encryption

All data transmitted during your notarization session is protected by AES-256 encryption — the same standard used by financial institutions. This includes your uploaded documents, identity information, and video session.

Multi-Factor Identity Verification

We verify identity using two independent methods: automated credential analysis of your government-issued ID and knowledge-based authentication questions. This exceeds the legal requirements for remote notarization.

Complete Audit Trail

Every session is recorded and time-stamped. The notary's journal entry includes details of the identity verification, the document signed, and the video recording. This creates a legally defensible record of every notarization.

Secure Document Storage

Your documents are stored in encrypted cloud storage with restricted access. Documents are retained for a limited period and then securely purged. Only you and the notary have access to your files.
